WHAT IS ACT ONE OR OVERTURE? ACT ONE and OVERTURE are the premiere performing
groups for Class Act Productions. These two organizations perform for many different groups and in many different venues in the city, state and nation as public relations groups for the non-profit corporation. ACT ONE is the older group with more experience. OVERTURE is the training group for ACT ONE.


WHO ARE THE INSTRUCTORS? Class Act prides itself in securing professional and fun-loving teachers for all classes. These ensembles are currently directed by Keith Brumfield with assistance from Bari Brumfield and Debra Moses. Choreography is by Tony Smith. Act One/Overture Manager is Tracy Downham.


HOW CAN I JOIN? Membership is by audition only. Students are expected to perform a short song, demonstrate proficiency in dance and have outstanding stage presence.

WHAT KIND OF TIME COMMITMENT IS REQUIRED? Members of ACT ONE and OVERTURE are expected to attend all scheduled rehearsals and performances. Consideration is given to absences for school or church related events only. Members who are continually absent will be asked to drop out of the group.


IS THERE A FINANCIAL COMMITMENT? Members of ACT ONE and OVERTURE pay a monthly fee to help defray the cost of facility rental, insurance, music and salaries. The current monthly tuition is $60.00.


WHEN ARE REHEARSALS? Regular rehearsals are held twice a month on Monday evenings at the Class Act Studios, 25275 Budde Road, Suite 25, Spring, Texas 77380. Overture reh
earsal is from 6:00-7:30 PM, Act One rehearsal 7:00-8:30 PM. One extra rehearsal per month will also be scheduled. Retreats are planned for intensive rehearsals as needed.


HOW MANY PERFORMANCES ARE THERE? Performances are scheduled at least once a month with more frequent performances during the Christmas season. Regular performing season is October -June.


IS THERE A SUMMER TRIP? ACT ONE and OVERTURE usually take an extended trip every year. Trip itinerary and costs are available in September, so members can make plans and payments throughout the year.
