Persons who would like to audition for BEAUTY AND THE BEAST
please come to the Class Act studio this morning between 9:00 AM and 12:00 PM.
- Character roles for BEAUTY AND THE BEAST will be for ages 9 and older.
- Production dates for BEAUTY AND THE BEAST will be October 24-November 3, 2024.
- There will not be a performance on Halloween
- Auditions will be held Saturday, September 14, 9:00 AM-12:00 PM
- Please sign up for an audition time by using the link above.
- The audition will consist of two parts: singing and dance.
- Prepare a short (1 min. or less) song. Bring sheet music in the correct key for the accompanist.
- Class Act will provide an accompanist for the auditions.
- Please plan to stay for a dance audition after you sing your prepared song.
- Rehearsals for BEAUTY AND THE BEAST will begin Monday, September 23, 2024.
CHARACTER ROLES:
Belle
Beast - the cursed Prince and master of the castle
Maurice - Belle's genius inventor father
Gaston - a red, narcissistic hunter who assumes the world belongs to him
Lefou - Gaston's fawning friend, not too bright
Les Belles De La Ville (3) - a group of Gaston's fanatical female followers
Lumber - a charming French valet who fancies himself a ladies man; becomes a candelabra
Cogsworth - an officious, excitable, English major-domo; becomes a mantle clock
Mrs. Potts - a sweet, kind-hearted head of the kitchen staff and mother to Chip; becomes a teapot
Chip - Mrs. Potts hopeful young son; becomes a teacup
Madame De La Grande Bouche - A grand, larger-than-life opera singer; becomes a wardrobe
Babette - a flirtatious maid; becomes a feather duster
Monsieur D'arque - Proprietor of the local insane asylum
Narrator - begins the tale of the young Prince who became a beast
Young Prince - a spoiled, orphaned young man
Old Beggar Woman - and enchantress in disguise
Wolves
Villagers - Shepherd, Marie, Tavern Master, Laundry Lady, Baker, Flower Seller, Sausage Curl Lady,
Candle Maker, Hat Seller, Bookseller, Cronies
Castle Staff: become various objects, including a Gargoyle, Flatware, and Napkins
