
A strong volunteer network is the "engine" that has kept Class Act running all these years, and an important component of our success. It takes many people working together to create a successful production and we depend on volunteers to assist with each of our committees.

COSTUMES
Open or Close- Work with chairperson and directors to discuss styles and needs
- Assist chairperson in locating and obtaining costumes through rental or second-hand shops
- Construct and sew costumes as needed and directed by the chairperson
- Prepare costume information for the cast
- Assist with backstage duties during rehearsals and performances as directed by chairperson
- Help arrange and organize backstage dressing areas and supervise cast
- Help ensure cast members have returned all costume pieces to the appropriate areas after run of show

PROPS
Open or Close- Assess prop needs with director and chairperson
- Locate all props needed in the production
- Organize and set up prop table backstage
- Assign person(s) to manage props during run of show
- Assist with packing and storing all props after run of show
- Return all borrowed items after run of show

PUBLICITY
Open or Close- Help plan and execute a publicity campaign for the production as directed by the chairperson
- Assist with distribution of posters & postcards or other materials in the community
- Assist with arranging publicity photos of the cast for the newspaper(s)
- Assist with creating a large photo board of the cast to be displayed in the lobby during the run of show
- Assist with painting car windows with the show information.

CONCESSIONS
Open or Close- Plan items to sell at concession stand as directed by the chairperson
- Help purchase food items & drinks (save all receipts for chairperson)
- Set up concession stand prior to each performance
- Sell items before each performance and during intermission
- Help clean up concession areas after each performance and store remaining items

FLOWERS/TELEGRAMS
Open or Close- Organize flower and telegram sales during run of show as directed by chairperson
- Purchase flowers
- Create, print and copy the appropriate number of telegrams and flower slips
- Set up tables for each production
- Prepare and sell flowers and telegrams before each performance and during intermission

PLAYBILL ADS
Open or Close- Plan and promote ways to sell advertising for the show program as directed by chairperson
- Organize individuals to sell business and personal ads for the show program
- Set up a contest to encourage actors to sell ads for the show program

BACKSTAGE/CAST SUPERVISION
Open or Close- Help actors with makeup, hair, and costumes in dressing rooms as directed by chairperson
- Ensure the noise level remains low in the dressing rooms
- Ensure all dressing room areas are kept neat and clean

CAST PARTY HOST
Open or Close- Plan a cast party for approximately 80-100 people (depending on size of cast)
- Work with director in securing a date for the party
- Secure a location and plan activities for the cast
- Plan and order/assign food items as needed
- Prepare an invitation flyer and distribute to entire cast and crew

SET CONSTRUCTION
Open or Close- Assist set designer with all areas of set construction
- Assist with move-in and construction of set pieces on stage
- Help with strike of set and clean-up immediately after final show
